User Challenges

Range Anxiety & Trust Deficit

EV drivers constantly worry about running out of charge because they can't easily locate reliable, fast-charging stations — especially on longer routes. They need a tool that provides real-time, trustworthy, and actionable charging info

Poor Charging Experience in Existing Apps

Most charging apps overwhelm users with cluttered interfaces, poor filtering, and unreliable charger data. There’s no clear way to distinguish between slow and fast chargers, or know if a charger is truly available

Friction in Planning EV Journeys

Planning a route in an electric vehicle is time-consuming and uncertain. Drivers must manually find charging stops, calculate distances, and guess whether a charger will be available — adding stress to every trip

Information Overload & Poor Prioritization

EV apps often suffer from UI clutter and poor hierarchy, making it hard for users to focus on what matters — nearby fast chargers, availability, and time-to-charge. We needed to design for clarity, speed, and minimal input

User Interviews Key Findings

Real-time Availability is Critical

Drivers need real-time charger status to avoid frustration and make confident choices

Route Planning Must Be EV-Friendly

Long trips require route planning that includes charging stops, types, and times

Clear, Reliable Information Builds Confidence

Accurate data and a simple interface help drivers trust the app
